When a Smurf is choking what color does it turn?

I use to watch the Smurfs when I was a young child. I always thought it would be cool to have blue skin. I grew up, and learned that there are actually people that have blue skin, it is a blood disorder called methemoglobinemia (try saying that three times fast), which discolors the skin to a blue/indigo tint. I love the color blue, but since I'm no longer a child, at least physically, I will stick to wearing it, rather than being colored it.
